John S. Hlatky Sr.
John S. Hlatky Sr., 66, of Cleveland, Ohio, and formerly of Masontown, Pa., died Wednesday, September 25, 2002, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born January 19, 1936, in Masontown, Pa., the son of Charles John and Kathryn (Hancheck) Hlatky.
He worked as a tree expert with Asplundh of Cleveland, Ohio, and was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church of Masontown, Pa. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Lucille Yoskovich Hlatky; two brothers, Sonny and Joseph; and a sister, Anna Mae O’Neil.
He is survived by a son, John S. Hlatky Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; a daughter, Judith Seneff, and her husband, Robert, of Hiram, Ohio; two sisters, Marie M. Sierzega and her husband, Thomas, of Masontown, Pa., and Dorothy A. Plaski and her husband, Philip, of Masontown Pa., a brother, Robert Hlatky, and his wife, Jannet, of Long Island, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, Masontown, Pa., Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 8 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. James F. Bump officiating.
