Methodist Women meet On Wednesday evening, the monthly meeting of the United Methodist Women of the Bobtown United Methodist Church was held in the social room of the church, with President Susie Wiltrout presiding.
Before the business, Melinda Williams read a poem, “May the Lord Bless You,’ followed by Bible study over Lesson 4 in the workbook.
During the business, the group planned activities as fund-raisers.
The group will hold its annual fall rummage sale in the fire hall at Bobtown on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. to noon. Set-up will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 8 and from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday. A bake sale will be held along with a full lunch menu at the kitchen on Thursday.
The group will serve the Election Day lunch Nov. 5 at the fire hall. A full menu, including many homemade pies, will be available for lunch.
Workers are needed for these activities and are asked to make every effort to help.
The group named many from the community to the prayer list, including friends and families from around the area. Shirley Gasti offered prayer for all.
The group will meet next on Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. with Bible study over Lesson 5 in the workbook.
Melinda Williams will be the social committee person for the October meeting.
After Bible study and business, the meeting was closed with all repeating the Missionary Benediction.

Festival scheduled
On Saturday, Oct. 19, a fall festival will be held at Greensboro. The event will include an all-town yard sale, a pet parade, a bicycle parade and a lawn mower parade, and many crafters will display their wares throughout the town.
Organizers are holding weekly meetings at the Ice Plant to accept any input for this day of fun and fellowship. For more information, call Mary Shrine at 724-943-4462.
Soup sale set for Saturday
The first soup sale day for the fall will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Bobtown United Methodist Church. Orders may be placed with Connie Fell, Margaret Vincie or members of the church. Orders can be delivered, and take-outs are available.
After the soup sale at noon, the administrative council will hold its monthly meeting, and all members should attend. All reports are to be completed and given to Pastor Terry Teluch at once for the church conference, which will be held Nov. 5.
Local tidbit
Tracy Kiger thanks all those who sent her get-well wishes, cards, prayers and concerns while she was a surgical patient in the Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Tracy is recuperating at home.
