James Robert “Hap” Hardy
James Robert “Hap” Hardy, 67, of Dunbar, Pa., died Sunday, March 30, 2003 at HIS Mountain View, Greensburg, Pa. He was born August 31, 1935 in Dunbar, Pa., a son of the late William Hardy Jr. and Edna Mae Singfield Hardy.
He was employed as a custodian and a truck driver for Penn Dot, was a member of Franklin Memorial United Methodist Church of Dunbar, a member of the Methodist Men, a life member of the Dunbar Volunteer Fire Department and Odd Fellow of Connellsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Frank Hardy and Don Hardy and a sister Audrey Cottom.
He is survived by his wife Virginia McGinnis FitzGerald Hardy; children, Thomas FitzGerald and wife Juanita of Harrisburg, Paul FitzGerald and wife Hilda of Dunbar, Julie Hammaker and husband Paul of Connellsville; a sister and brother Lola Stillwagon of Connellsville and William Edward Hardy of Connellsville; six grandsons; nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar, Pa., today from 4 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. the hour of the funeral service in the Franklin Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeffrey Popson officiating. Go directly to the church on Wednesday.
Interment will follow in Old Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
The Dunbar Volunteer Fire Department will conduct Memorial Services this evening at 7 p.m.
