Community calendar – April 4
AMVETS POST 103 Ladies Auxiliary, Hopwood, will hold an executive meeting at 6 p.m. Monday followed by a regular meeting at 7. Nomination of officers will be held. Members are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Easter basket give-away. CARMICHAELS SENIOR CENTER is holding a fish fry every Friday during Lent from 4 to 7 p.m. Take-out orders will be available. Cost is $5.75.
CALVARY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 34 Clark St., Uniontown, is holding its 29th-year Easter eggs sale. Prices are $4.25 for half-pound; $7.50 per one pound egg. Several varieties are available. Orders may be placed at 724-437-6341. Eggs may be picked up Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eggs will also be sold at WalMart on April 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
ST. THERESE ALTAR SOCIETY will receive Communion at the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday. Rosary will be recited at 9:10 a.m. The regular meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday. Trooper Brian Burden of the State Police and Officer Kolencik of the Uniontown police, will be speakers.
CARMICHAELS UNITED METHODIST WOMEN will hold a soup sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church fellowship hall, 104 W. South St. Take-out orders will be available. Patrons are to bring their own container. Pints are $2 and quarts are $4. Dine in includes soup, dessert and beverage for $3.50.
