Edmond B. Weckoski
Edmond B. Weckoski, 86, of Richeyville, Pa., died unexpectedly at 1:45 a.m., on Thursday, April 3, 2003, in the Washington Hospital. He was born March 21, 1917, in Charleroi, Pa., a son of Joseph and Sophia Duda Weckoski.
Mr. Weckoski retired in 1976, from Bethlehem Mines Corporation, Mine No. 60. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local Union No. 1197.
He was a member St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church of Richeyville, and the Charleroi Sportsmen’s Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. George (Patricia) Hagedorn of Richeyville, Pa.; a son, Edmond J. Weckoski and his wife, Donna of Charleroi, Pa.; four grandchildren, George Hagedorn Jr., Kathy Scaccia, Edmond T. Weckoski and Joseph Weckoski; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Mitchell Weckoski, Albert Weckoski and Edwin Weckoski, all of Coal Center, Pa.; and a sister, Alfreda Fuoco of Coal Center, Pa.
His wife, Mary Tworzydlo Weckoski died January 20, 1992. Also deceased are one grandson in infancy; a sister, Jenny Ramoski and another sister, Alice, who died in infancy.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., on Saturday and Sunday, in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main St., Beallsville, where a Blessing Service will be held at 9:30 a.m., on Monday, April 7, 2003, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., in St. Mary’s R.C. Church of Daisytown, with the Rev. Francis Jurewicz officiating. Contributions may be made to the St. Agnes Building Fund, PO box 406, Richeyville, PA 15358.
