Jacob D. Dudash, 85, of Tower Hill No. 2, Pa., passed away Thursday, April 3, 2003, in Uniontown Hospital.

He was born Jan. 14, 1918, in Helen, Pa., a son of Joseph Dudash and Dora Marinchak Dudash. Jacob was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church of Republic, formerly employed at the Tower Hill No. 2 Coke Yard, and retired from the Laborer’s Union as a construction worker.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II, on the USS Wisconsin, and was a member of Republic American Legion Post 590.

Preceding him in death were sisters, Mary Podgursky and Anna Muzichuk; brothers, John, Joseph, Andrew, Steven, Paul and Adam; and his parents.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Mary Mehalik Dudash; sons, Edward Dudash and his wife, Marsha of Fredericksburg, Va., and Thomas Dudash and his wife, Maureen of California, Pa.; grandchildren, Bryan, Jason, Aimee, Michelle, Thomas and Jeremy; a great-grandson, Sebastian; and sisters, Sophia Ducar of Allison, Pa., and Margaret Kovalick of Washington, Pa.

Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., Legion Street, Republic, today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., and Saturday until 9:30 a.m., when a Prayer Service will be held. A Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m., in Holy Rosary Church, with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Bugay As Celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Republic, where Military Rites will be accorded by Hopwood AMVETS Post 103. A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 3 p.m.
