Schwertfeger-Unice
St. George Maronite Catholic Church, Uniontown, was the setting for the marriage of Renee Louise Unice of Hopwood and Charles Ryan Schwertfeger of Raleigh, N.C. The Rev. Joseph David officiated at the nuptial Mass on Oct. 12.
The bride’s parents are Larry and Judy Unice of Buttermilk Lane, Hopwood. The bridegroom’s parents are Charles and Nancy Schwertfeger of Wellsburg, W.Va.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her father. She wore an ivory silk-crepe gown with empire waistline, embroidered with flowers and adorned with pearls and crystals. An antique rhinestone tiara held a cathedral-length veil.
Matron of honor was Lara Reed, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Suzanne Marmol and Jennifer Voyten, sisters of the bride; Chantel Schwertfeger, sister of the bridegroom; Tessa Unice, cousin of the bride, and Erin Witek. Maria and Kristen Marmol, nieces of the bride, were flower girls.
Rob Andrews was best man. Groomsmen were Mark Marmol, Eric Reed, Steve Wilson and Travis Mitchell. Alex Marmol and Evan Voyten, nephews of the bride, were ring bearers.
A reception was held at the Summit Inn Resort.
The bride is a 1994 graduate of Laurel Highlands High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2000 and a master’s degree in nursing in 2002, both at West Virginia University. She is a family nurse practitioner at Duke University.
The bridegroom is a 1996 graduate of Brooke High School and a 2001 graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. He is a Web hosting account manager with IBM.
The couple honeymooned in Hawaii.
They reside at Condor Court, Raleigh, N.C.
