Eva Hutchinson
Eva Hutchinson, 87, of Mount Independence, Pa., went home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of Monday, April 7, 2003 from Laurel Ridge Nursing Facility where she had the attention of a caring staff. She was born May 25, 1915 in Mount Independence, Pa., the daughter of Doll and Lottie Brown Yauger.
Eva had been employed in the Housekeeping Department of the Fayette County Courthouse until her retirement and was a member of the Cove Run Free Methodist Church and also attended Calvary Assembly of God Church. She was well known for her generosity.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Stanley M. Hutchinson; a grandson, Theodore W. Matthews (May 16, 2002); her son-in-law, Charles T. Matthews (December 24, 2002; four brothers Clyde, Lit, Gart and Arnold; three sisters, Katie Jacobs, Edna Coleman and Eula Bryner. She was the last remaining member of her family.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Wanda Matthews, Mount Independence; a grandson, Timothy “Tim” Matthews and wife, Lori, Mount Independence; three grandchildren; Chad Matthews, Daniel Matthews and Sarah Rose Matthews, all of Mount Independence; numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Friends will be received in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar, Pa., Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Additional visitation will be held in the Cove Run Free Methodist Church on Thursday from noon until 1 p.m., the hour of service with Pastor Roger Yeager and Pastor Charles King officiating.
Interment will follow in Cove Run Cemetery, Lemont Furnace, Pa.
