Carl John Lama
Carl John Lama, 80, of Newell, Pa., died Friday, April 11, 2003 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc., Carroll Township, Washington County, Pa. He was born November 9, 1922, in Newell, Pa., son of Nick C. Lama and Virginia Stonfer Lama.
Carl was a Veteran of World War II who served with the United States Army.
He was a Charter Member of Newell Volunteer Fire Company and V. F. W. Post 1606, Newell.
He was also a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, Pa.
Surviving are his wife, Irene Rocca Lama; children: Carl Lama of Newell, Daniel Lama and wife, Connie, of Jefferson, Pa., and Mary Lama Kostic and husband, Dennis Kostic, of Chicago, Illinois; one brother, Conrad L. Lama of Fayette City, Pa.; one sister, Virginia Lama Pro of Charleroi, Pa.; five grandchildren: Sarah Brooks, Emily Kostic, Graham Kostic, Anna Lama and Daniel Lama Jr.; and one great grandson, Jackson Brooks.
Friends will be received at the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main Street, Fayette City, Pa., on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, April 16, until 9:30 a.m. when a Blessing Service will take place.
A Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, with Rev. Fr. John Cindric as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Coal Center, Pa.
