Howard C. “Buster” Hardin
Howard C. “Buster” Hardin, 58, of Mill Run, Pa., died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Feb. 8, 1945, in Smithfield, Pa., son of Margaret Jane Hardin Loulis of Fairchance, Pa.
Buster was predeceased by his brother, Charles Loulis and father-in-law, Michael Carafa.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Janet Carafa Hardin; two daughters, Dawn Renzi and husband, Carmen of Morgantown, W.Va., and Nikki Hardin of Mill Run, Pa.; five grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Lewis of Fairchance and Ruby Baker of Uniontown, Pa.; four aunts, Star Hardin and Elva Kelley, both of Smithfield, Pa., Beverly Miller of Fairchance, Pa., and Sally Doutt of Ellwood City, Pa.; and mother-in-law, Clara Carafa of Masontown, Pa.
He was an avid sportsman who loved fishing and hunting, was a self-employed stone mason, and a veteran of the United States Army.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church St., Fairchance, Pa., today until 11 a.m., the hour of service. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa. Visitation was also held on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
