Marjorie I. “Jean” Smitley Rogers
Marjorie I. “Jean” Smitley Rogers, 76, of Dunbar, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 18, 2003 from H. C. Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, Pa. She was born April 26, 1926 in Dunbar, Pa., daughter of Abraham Lincoln Smitley Jr. and Mary Jane James Smitley.
“Jean” had retired with 34 years service as a Selector from Anchor Hocking in South Connellsville.
Her husband, Joseph Merle “Scuz” Rogers, brother, Lawrence Smitley, sisters, Ruth Hammett, Phyllis Smitley, Gertrude Kolat, and parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Merle R. Rogers and wife, Nancy, and a daughter, Sandy Tressler and husband, Fred, all of Dunbar, Pa.; five grandchildren: KellyRegish and her husband Rob, Jennifer Pie and husband Mark, Kasey Tressler, James “Bud” Rogers and Marty Rogers; three great grandchildren: Lauren Regish, Logan Pie and Jonathan Pie; two sisters: Dorothy Stefanick of Dunbar and Betty June Duckworth of Uniontown, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, April 22, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Robert Wrachford officiating.
Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa.
