Anna Danyi Macalak
Anna Rose Danyi Macalak, 74, of Daisytown, Pa., died Saturday, April 19, 2003.
She was born in Walkertown, Pa., on June 4, 1928, daughter of Steven Danyi and Julia Settie Danyi.
She attended Walkertown and Daisytown grade schools and graduated from California High School, California, Pa. She was immediately employed by the Pittsburgh Mercantile Company where she worked for 11 years.
On June 3, 1950 she married Andy Macalak in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Brownsville, Pa.
Anna was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine, The Assumption Church, and St. Mary’s Church in Daisytown, and also the Rosary Society of The Assumption Church.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Macalak, on January 24, 2000 and her parents.
Andy and Anna had no children but are survived by a granddaughter, Pam Luko, and two great grandchildren, Joshua Luko and Kristina Luko.
Also left to cherish her memory are three sisters and two brothers: Julia Zanella of Avonmore, Pa., Verona Chernay of Daisytown, Pa., Priscilla Majoros of Blainesburg, Pa., Alex Danyi of Belle Vernon, Pa., and John Danyi of Hillsboro, Ohio. Anna is also survived by many Nieces, Nephews and Godchildren.
Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Daisytown with Father Fran Jurewicz officiating.
Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery.
