Cora Sue Ward
Cora Sue (Reynolds) Eilam Ward, 66, of Coraopolis, Pa., since 1988, formerly of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at Mariner Health Care Center of West Hills, Moon Township. She was born in Uniontown, Pa., on April 30, 1936, to the late Garland and Mary (Reynolds) Harrison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Samuel Ward on Feb. 11, 1999.
She is survived by her five children, Mark Eilam of New Jersey, Terry Eilam of Connellsville, Pa., Wayne and Bryan Eilam, both of Morgantown, W.Va., and Darren Eilam of Braddock; 11 stepchildren; one brother, Phillip Harrison of Uniontown; one granddaughter, Tasha Jordan of Pittsburgh; many step-grand and great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Mrs. Ward served with her husband in the John Wesley Church in Uniontown, from 1978 to 1980. Mrs. Ward was a member of St. Paul AME Zion Church, where she served as a missionary. In 2002, she was presented by the Rotary Club of McCandless Township a Volunteer Recognition Award for her dedication as a hotline worker for Crisis Center North, assisting victims of domestic violence. Her largest hurdle in life was her blindness.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at COPELAND FUNERAL SERVICE, 867 Five Ave., Coraopolis, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Linda Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Sewickley Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her name to St. Paul AME Zion Church.
