Genevieve J. Anderson
Genevieve J. Anderson, 98, of Uledi, Pa., passed away Tuesday evening, April 22, 2003, in Laurel Ridge Center, Uniontown, Pa. She was born Oct. 18, 1909, in Vanderbilt, Pa., daughter of the late Gouldlay and Margaret Lockette.
She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Uledi, Pa., where she served as pianist for many years. She was a member of Pride of the Valley No. 70 of Brownsville Pa.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Laymon Anderson Sr.; one son, James Anderson; daughters, Genevieve Davis, Betty Fairfax and Yvonne Lawrence; and sisters and brothers, Grace Arnette, Dorothy Jones, Mary Bennett and Thomas, Carl and Isaac Lockette.
Surviving are seven sons, Laymon Anderson Jr., and wife, Audrey and Richard Anderson, all of Cleveland, Ohio, Norman Anderson and wife, Carolyn of Pittsburgh, Pa., William Anderson of McClellandtown, Pa., Owen Anderson and wife, Virginia of Hiller, Pa., Marvin Anderson of Springdale, Md., and Clinton Anderson of Uledi, Pa.; two daughters, Lorraine Tarpley of Uniontown, Pa., and Phyllis Ramsey of Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister, Mildred Crable of Washington, D.C.; one sister-in-law, the Rev. Evelyn Lockette of Vanderbilt, Pa.; and a number of grandchildren, greats, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main St., Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Owen Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Dickerson Run Cemetery, Vanderbilt, Pa.
