James Lewis Mochnsky
James Lewis Mochnsky, 69, of Uniontown passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 24, 2003, in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born July 1, 1933, in Smock, Pa., the son of the late John Mochnsky and Margaret Sholtis Mochnsky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Kowalsky, and a brother, John Lewis.
James was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, was a United States veteran serving as a sergeant in the Air Force during the Korean War, a member of American Legion Post 51, a local news sports announcer with both WMBS and WPQR under the radio name of Jim Lewis, and was a foreman at Steel Scaffolding Inc.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Marion Ann Koschock Mochnsky; his loving children, Charlene Galluzzo and husband, Michael, of Middlebourne, W.Va., James G. Mochnsky and wife, Carla Frank, of New York City, and Lisa Campbell and husband, Daniel, of Uniontown; beloved grandchildren Michael and Erica Galluzzo and Eden Campbell; his sister, Patricia Novosel, and husband, Peter, of Uniontown; many devoted nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVE., Uniontown, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be held on Monday morning at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church at a time to be announced. Interment will follow in St. John Byzantine Church Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.
