Alvin C. Baker
Alvin C. Baker, 54, of Jefferson, Maryland, and formerly of the Lake Lynn, Pa., area died unexpectedly Monday, April 21, 2003 in Rockville, Maryland. Born August 16, 1948, in Morgantown, West Virginia, he was a son of Milton D. Baker and Sarah M. Johnson Baker.
He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict who served eight years active duty and 22 years in the Naval Reserves, until his retirement in 1998 as a Master Chief.
He was currently employed as a Project Manager at Epoch Engineering in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
He was a member of Lake Lynn Community Chapel.
Alvin loved to travel, and was an avid hunter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Beverly Bixler Baker; his brother, Larry K. Baker, and sister, Sarah Jean “Jeannie” Baker, both of Point Marion R. D., Pa.; and by his in-laws, Carty and Beatrice Bixler of Lake Lynn.
The Family will receive Friends today (Sunday, April 27) in Lake Lynn Community Chapel from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. A Memorial Service with be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Reba Thurmond officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the Baker Kidney Transplant Fund, % 229 Bunker Hill Road, Lake Lynn, PA 15451.
