James Lewis Mochnsky
James Lewis Mochnsky, 69, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away suddenly Thursday, April 24, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born July 1, 1933 in Smock, Pa., son of John Mochnsky and Margaret Sholtis Mochnsky.
James was a member of St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Veteran who served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and a member of American Legion Post 51.
He was a local news and sports announcer with both WMBS and WPQR under the radio name of “Jim Lewis” and was a Foreman at the former Steel Scaffolding Inc. in Uniontown.
A sister, Delores Kowalsky, a brother, John Lewis, and parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Marion Ann Koschock Mochnsky; his loving children: Charlene Galluzzo and husband, Michael, of Middlebourne, West Virginia, James G. Mochnsky and wife, Carla Frank, of New York City, and Lisa Campbell and husband, Daniel, of Uniontown; beloved grandchildren: Michael Galluzzo, Erica Galluzzo and Eden Campbell; his sister, Patricia Novosel, and husband, Peter, of Uniontown; many devoted nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many loving and dear friends.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, UNIONTOWN, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, April 28, until 10 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.
Divine Liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, East Main Street, Uniontown.
Interment will follow in St. John Byzantine Church Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa., where Military Honors will be accorded.
Parastas this evening at 7 p.m.
Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
