Katherine D. Rhodes
Katherine Dlubac Rhodes, 84, of Clarksville (Deemston), Pa., died at 5:10 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2003 in Humbert Lane Person Care Center, Washington, Pa.
She was born November 2, 1918 in Crucible, Pa., daughter of Andrew and Anna Dlubac.
Mrs. Rhodes graduated from the former East Beth High School and earned a Bachelors Degree in Education from California Normal School (now California University of Pennsylvania).
An English teacher, she retired from Beth-Center High School in 1981 after 21 years of service. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, National Education Association, and the Beth Center Education Association.
She also volunteered at the Fredericktown Library and was a member of the Beth Center Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Rhodes enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
She was a member of St. Michael Archangel Church, St. Oliver Plunkett Parish, Fredericktown.
Her husband, Clayton Rorier Rhodes, died July 17, 1977.
Also deceased are three brothers, Joseph, Edward and John Dlubac, and parents.
Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Dario (Evalita) Luccioni of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mrs. Kenneth (Cathleen) Harasty of Clarksville, Pa.; three sisters: Margaret Koynock, Anne Pich of Parma, Ohio, and Dorothy Sabula of Ohio; a brother, Thomas Dlubac of Long Island, New York; six grandchildren: David Luccioni, Matthew J. Harasty, Lisa Marie Luccioni, Amanda R. Harasty, Andrea Coby and Kayla R. Harasty; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, Pa., today from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Monday, April 28, at 10:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11 a.m. in St. Michael Archangel Church of St. Oliver Plunkett Parish, Fredericktown, with Rev. Fr. Francis Nazimek as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
A Parish Vigil will be held in the Funeral Home today at 7 p.m.
