Steve Butchock Jr.

Steve Butchock Jr., age 91, a lifelong resident of Lamberton, Pa., passed away on Friday, April 25, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born in Lamberton, Fayette County, Pa., on December 2, 1911 son of Steve Butchock Sr. and Anna Galetka Butchock.

Steve was a member of Lamberton Union Church, retired Coal Miner who worked at United States Steel Corporation’s Robena Mine, and member of United Mine Workers of America Local 6321.

His parents, four brothers, John, Michael, Joseph, Andrew, and three sisters, Mary, Kathryn, and Margaret, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Garnet Stouffer Butchock; son, Steve Butchock III and his wife, Patricia, of Manassas, Virginia; daughter, Marlene Sunyak of Lamberton; three grandchildren: Paul Sunyak, Mark Sunyak and his wife Betty, and Mona Butchock; two great grandchildren: Jacob Sunyak and Rachel Sunyak; and one sister, Verna Winca of North Olmsted, Ohio.

Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, April 29, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Robert Patton officiating.

Interment will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, McClellandtown, Pa.
