William A. Renner

William A. Renner, 86, of New Castle, Pa., and formerly of Upper Middletown, Pa., passed away Friday, April 25, 2003 in Jamison Hospital, New Castle. He had been a resident of Duff’s Personal Care Home in New Castle. He was the son of Alexander and Esther Slivensky Renner who both died in 1952.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Alice Blackley Renner in 1978, a sister, Zella Renner, and five brothers, John, Joseph, Samuel, Michael and Frank.

Surviving are his daughter, Cathleen Currie of Newark, Delaware; four grandchildren: Robyn, Hunter, Caryn and Peirson; four great grandchildren; and two sisters: Wilma Hough of Uniontown, Pa., and Irene Smolley of Hopwood, Pa.

William was a retired Engineer from Charles F. Smith & Sons in Kenneth Square, Pa., and was a Veteran of World War II who served in the United States Army.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today (Monday, April 28) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., the hour of the Service with the Rev. Roger Howard officiating.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.

Visitation was also held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
