A representative of Rush Architectural Metal Erectors of Washington told police that someone took a cable spreader, metal cable chokers and 20-foot cloth straps from a construction area at Fayette Industrial Park sometime between April 17 and 22. The items were valued at $773, according to police.

Joseph Prouse, 34, of Acme told police that he was punched and kicked in a trailer behind Hill Top Pizza Sunday at 2:30 a.m. by an unknown person. Prouse was taken to Frick Hospital in Mount Pleasant where he was treated for his injuries.

DUI charges filed
Police arrested Vincent Wright, 43, of Indian Head April 12 for DUI (driving under the influence of alcohol) after they observed him swerving into the opposite lane of traffic along Route 982 at 2 a.m. Wright faces a preliminary hearing before Bullskin Township District Justice Robert Breakiron.

State police said James B. Frazee of 20 Loch St., McClellandtown, ran off the Leckrone-Highhouse Road Sunday at 9:45 a.m. and struck a stonewall. Frazee refused treatment, according to police.

Robbery
State police are investigating the Sunday armed robbery at the Days Inn on Route 31. Police said a white, 30- to 40-year-old man, with red or brown hair, a fair complexion wearing a gray ski mask, a dark, hooded sweatshirt and jeans ordered a Days Inn desk clerk to give him the money while pointing a black semi-automatic handgun at her. Police said the clerk gave the man the money and he fled the scene in an unknown direction. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Greensburg at 724-832-3288.

Gasoline stolen
State police said the I-79 Exxon Station on Route 21 reported that someone in a green or black Dodge Intrepid pumped $11.41 in gasoline into a vehicle Sunday and left without paying.

Man jailed
State police arrested James Lee Elliott, 51, of Rogersville Sunday and charged him with simple assault, reckless endangerment, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct for allegedly assaulting Donna Jean Elliott, 51 and an 11-year-old juvenile male, both of Rogersville. Police said the incident happened at the intersection of Third and School streets. Elliott was arraigned and placed in the Green County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bond.

James W. McClellan, 28 and Clyde R. McClellan, 67, both of Graysville, were charged Sunday with violations pertaining to not removing doors from seven abandoned refrigerators on Dividing Ridge Road, Graysville. Police said there were seven small children playing in close proximity to the refrigerators.

Minor injuries
Franklin Ross of Clarksville, Texas, was involved in a one-vehicle accident Sunday when police said he became distracted while driving on Interstate 79 and struck a guide rail, flipped his vehicle onto its side and struck another guide rail. Police said he and passenger Charles Reese, also of Clarksville, Texas, sustained minor injuries.

Harassment
Police filed harassment charges against Eric Cox, 24, of Carmichaels for allegedly assaulting a 17-year-old Adah girl on Sunday.
Police said Cox allegedly shoved the girl, punched her several times in the face and on the top of her head.

Threats made
State police arrested and charged Ted M. Shallenberger, 50, of New Freeport Monday with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, harassment by communication, criminal trespass and harassment.
According to police, Shallenberger allegedly threatened several Springhill-Freeport Elementary School staff members between April 11 and April 28 and made reference to several national school tragedies, citing the possibility of it happening at Springhill-Freeport Elementary School.
Police said Shallenberger also allegedly made numerous harassing phone calls to the school after he was instructed not to call there by the state police. Shallenberger was arraigned and taken to the Greene County Prison in lieu of $75,000 straight cash bond.

Edna M. Moore, 59, of East Millsboro told police that someone entered her home Sunday and went through her belongings. Police said nothing appeared to have been stolen.

Man charged
Borough police charged Thomas M. Vargo, 46, with driving under the influence, fleeing to elude police and resisting arrest and was issued seven citations after an incident April 17 at 3:14 p.m. in the borough. Police said the charges against Vargo were filed at the office of District Justice Michael Rubish.

State police said Robert Dale Dewitt, 55, of Dawson was charged with harassment following an incident with Marvin Dillon, 54, of Scottdale Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at a residence along Country Club Road. Police said charges against Dewitt were filed Monday at the office of District Justice Robert Breakiron.

State police said someone took several items of clothing from JCPenney in Uniontown Mall Thursday at 8:15 p.m. and fled the store without paying for the items. The suspect fled in a vehicle with Pennsylvania license plate number ENC-6800, police said.

State police said someone took a car belonging to Dirk Stephen Hartman of Fairchance sometime between 10:30 p.m. Sunday and 5:55 a.m. Monday.

Crash
Police said George David, 16, of Uniontown lost control of his vehicle Saturday at 11 p.m. on Redstone Furnace Road, failed to negotiate a set of railroad tracks, went airborne and came to rest on the roadway.
Police said David and four juvenile passengers in his vehicle were not injured.
