Scam reported State police in Waynesburg said there have now been two incidents in which five men claiming to be clearing trees for power lines or paving road berms are committing burglaries.
Police said one of the men lures the victim outside while the others go into the home to look for items to steal. Once inside, they are alerted by walkie-talkies if the owner starts back toward the home. The suspects are all believed be driving a newer white Chevrolet car and a newer white truck.
One incident occurred Wednesday afternoon along Mount Morris Road in Waynesburg. The homeowner was lured outside by one of the suspects who claimed to be clearing trees and bushes for power lines. Police ask anybody with information about the incidents to call the station at 724-627-6151.

The Luzerne Township code enforcement office received 22 complaints, issued six citations for high grass, issued nine warnings for high grass and six for junk vehicles, served one warrant for failure to respond to written citations for junked vehicles and towed four vehicles.

Anita R. Harris, 22, of 57 Main St., McClellandtown, was cited for disorderly conduct and Halimah Anderson, 20, of 2126 Leckrone Road, Leckrone, was cited for underage drinking and disorderly conduct after a disturbance along Wilson Avenue at 12:48 a.m. Friday, city police said.

Andrew Kormanik of McClellandtown told state police that someone stole four tires and 21 credit/debit cards from his vehicle July 24 in front of his Long Street home.

Man charged
State police charged William F. Takish Jr. of Uniontown with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness July 31 after he fell from a 10-foot embankment at a Morgantown Road business.

Charge filed
State police charged Blaine Burge of Masontown with driving under the influence of alcohol July 18 after his vehicle struck a telephone pole along Hopwood-Fairchance Road.

Woman injured
Tina Show of Lemont Furnace was injured in a two-vehicle accident July 14 along a state route, state police said.
Police said the accident occurred at 10:34 p.m. July 14 when vehicles driven by Pamela Sue Stein of Uniontown and Christine Sickles of Smithfield collided.

Perjury alleged
State police charged Jeffrey Reed Friend, 26, of the village of Searights, Uniontown, with perjury and false reports Friday after he allegedly testified falsely under oath at a summary trial at District Justice Deberah Kula’s office March 11 this year.
On Oct. 14, 2002, Friend also falsely accused another person of a crime that did not occur and was also charged for that incident, police said.
Police are seeking Friend after issuing an arrest warrant for him and filing the charges at District Justice Ronald Haggerty’s office.

Vehicles collide
State police are investigating a three-vehicle accident with injuries that occurred at 3:25 p.m. Friday on McClellandtown Road in South Union Township, Fayette County 911 said.
The South Union Township Volunteer Department and American EMS also responded.
State police released no report on the accident.

One-car crash
State police responded to a one-vehicle accident with injuries at 8:44 p.m. Friday on Dinner Bell Five Forks Road in Wharton Township, according to Fayette County 911.
Farmington, Ohiopyle and Springfield Township and Fayette EMS also responded. State police did not issue a report on the accident.

Fayette County 911 said no one was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 10:44 p.m. Friday on Fan Hollow Road. State police, West Leisenring Fire Department and Uniontown EMS were dispatched. No further details were available.

City police reported Elizabeth Sanders, 25, of Pershing Court missing on Saturday.
Police said Sanders is 5 feet 5 inches tall, 150 pounds and is wearing a gray shirt, blue Capris and white tennis shoes.

City police plan to cite a Coolspring Street woman and a Cleveland Avenue woman who were fighting at a Cleveland Avenue home around 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Both women had visible abrasions and bruises, police said.
