Carthelia T. “Phoebe” Dotson Austin
Carthelia T. “Phoebe” Dotson Austin, age 61, of Masontown, Pa., departed this life Thursday, July 31, 2003 from her home. She was born March 14, 1942 in Footedale, Pa., daughter of George and Carthelia Dotson.
She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Leckrone, Pa.
A daughter, Cheryl Ann, parents, and a number of brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Survived by her husband of 42 years, Arthur L. Austin II; one son, Arthur L. Austin III and special friend, Geri; one daughter, Terri R. Austin; two sisters: Bertha Baker of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mary Hairston of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two brothers: Henry J. Dotson and wife, Veneda, of McClellandtown, Pa., and Solomon Dotson and wife, Natalie, of Masontown, Pa.; one brother-in-law, William Austin of Oakland, California; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five Godchildren: Elyse Wilson, Nemacolin, Pa., Jacqueline Johnson, Petersburg, Virginia, Carol Harris, McClellandtown, Pa., Thelma Bradley, Republic, Pa., and Alfred Jones Jr. of Maryland; several adopted sisters; and many special friends, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., today from 5 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held Tuesday, August 5, at 1 p.m. by Rev. Grant Howard and Rev. James Burton.
Interment will follow in Edenborn Cemetery, Edenborn, Pa.
