Amanda Kay Piwowar, 16, of Uniontown, Pa., died Saturday, August 9, 2003 in The University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, Virginia, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born April 18, 1987 in Uniontown, Pa.

Amanda was a sophomore at Uniontown High School where she was a member of the Girls Softball Team.

She was also a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown.

Amanda enjoyed spending countless hours at the Fayette County Fair.

Her great grandmother, Nellie McIntyre, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her parents, Christopher Piwowar Sr. of Dunbar, Pa., and Kimberly (Haines) Piwowar and her special friend, David Walters, of Uniontown, Pa.; two brothers and their girlfriends: Chris Piwowar Jr. and Tiffany Durso of Footedale, Pa., and Terry Boyd and Beth Senary of Fairchance, Pa.; her paternal grandparents, John and Helen Piwowar of Uniontown, Pa.; her maternal grandparents, Don and Wilma Stafford of Fairchance, Pa.; numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins; a special friend, Kyle Mossburg; and many loving friends.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, August 13, until 9 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, with Rev. Fr. Alexander L. Pleban as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Mount Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown.
