Laura Sabatini Galie, age 89, of Smock, Pa., passed away Thursday, August 7, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital.

She was born in Ascoli Piceno, Italy, on November 8, 1913 daughter of Nazzareno Sabatini and Maria Orsini Sabatini.

She was a member of St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church and the Archconfraternity of Christian Mothers.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pietro Galie on June 22, 1976, a son, Evo “Nick” Galie, three brothers, Michael Sabatini, James Sabatini, Adario Sabatini, a sister, Gilda Giangreco, two brothers-in-law, Carl Peretti and Guy Rohrer, and parents.

She is survived by two grandchildren: Lisa Mosco and husband, Tim, of Grantville, Pa., and Joseph Galie and wife, Jerri, of Smock, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Galie of Smock; a great-granddaughter, Morgan Mosco; brothers and sisters: Nick Sabatini and wife, Opal, of Uniontown, Pa., Adelia Peretti and Melvina Rohrer both of Lancaster, Pa., Josephine Hudik and husband, Anthony, of Smock, Erma Bilko and husband, Robert, of Ohio, Dolores Kordella and husband, Victor, of Smock; a sister-in-law, Jenny Sabatini of Uniontown; and a brother-in-law, Louis Giangreco of Lancaster.

Friends will be received in the THOMAS M. DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 136 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, August 11, until 9:15 a.m. at which time Prayers of Transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, Smock, with Rev. Fr. John A. Sedlak as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Hedwig Cemetery.

The Rosary Confraternity will recite the Partner Parish Rosary today at 8 p.m.

Vigil Service will be held today at 8:30 p.m.

Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
