Charles Page Howell
Charles Page Howell, age 69, of Perryopolis, Pa., passed away Saturday afternoon, August 9, 2003 after a lengthy illness. He was born December 12, 1933 in Copen, West Virginia, son of Charles Everett Howell and Opal Hammer Howell.
Charles retired in 1966 from West Penn Power, Mitchell Power Station in Courtney, Pa., with 36 years of employment and reached the position of Superintendent of Results.
Charles graduated from West Virginia University with a Degree in Electrical Engineering.
He held a Professional Engineer Certificate in West Virginia and also in Pennsylvania.
Charles was a United States Naval Veteran who served on the U.S.S. Antietam as an Aircraft Mechanic.
He was a member of Little Redstone United Methodist Church, Fayette City, Pa., and General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 in Hopwood, Pa.
Charles volunteered with the Food Bank, Perryopolis United Methodist Church.
Charlie’s love of life was his family and friends, giving unselfishly always for advice or just to talk!
A granddaughter, Grace Ilene Howell, and parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Hockenberry Howell; children: Ms. Terri Howell of Pittsburgh, Pa., Thomas P. Howell of Perryopolis, Pa., Scott A. Howell and wife, Amy, of Grindstone, Pa., and Charles Patrick Howell of Perryopolis, Pa.; one grandson, Quinton Charles Howell of Louisville, Kentucky; and one sister, Mrs. Dana (Mary) Dean of Sutton, West Virginia.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., today (Monday, August 11) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at a later time.
Interment will be private.
