Walter L. Frankhouser

Walter L. Frankhouser, age 91, of Adah, Pa., went home to be with his Lord on Friday, August 8, 2003 from Brownsville General Hospital with his family by his bedside. He was born July 19, 1912 in Uniontown, Pa., son of Robert W. Frankhouser and Salena (King) Frankhouser.

Mr. Frankhouser was an active member of First Christian Church of Republic, Pa., where he served as an Elder Emeritus and in many other capacities in the Church.

He was also a past Leader in the Boy Scouts of America.

He was predeceased by his parents, two sons, Richard Frankhouser in infancy and Ralph “Sonny” Frankhouser, a brother, Woodrow Frankhouser, and a sister, Jean Frankhouser Blackburn.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Emma (Hill) Frankhouser; a daughter, Sandra Faye King and her husband, William, and two sons, Gilbert W. Frankhouser and his wife, Colleen, and Walter H. Frankhouser and his wife, Cindy, all of Adah, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Linda L. Frankhouser of Poland, Ohio; Grandchildren: James Gibson, Jeffrey Gibson, Eugene, Beth Ann, Robert, Gilbert “J.R.”, and Bradley Frankhouser, and Lori Kish; Great Grandchildren: David, Andrew, Matthew, and Timothy Frankhouser, and Justin, Jarred, Travis and Argia Gibson; two brothers: Charles Frankhouser of Kent, Ohio, and Robert Frankhouser of San Diego, California; a sister, Sara Latimer of Exton, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the H. DAVID McELROY FUNERAL HOME, 803 Main Street, McClellandtown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, August 12, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service. Rev. Norman C. Hunt will officiate.

Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.

Visitation was also held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
