Edith P. Coughenour
Edith P. Coughenour, 89, of Powell, Wyoming passed away Wednesday morning, August 6, 2003 at the Powell Hospital after a prolonged bout with cancer. Edith was born in Syracuse, New York on December 1, 1913 to Leroy B. and Edith G. Hagen. She married Arthur G. Coughenour in Syracuse, New York on September 21, 1935. In 1941 they moved to Uniontown, Pa. where they resided until 1988 when they retired to Powell, Wyoming.
Edith was a devoted wife and mother. She was an avid gardner, enjoyed reading, needlework and music in her spare time. She was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church in Uniontown and taught both adult and children’s Sunday School classes for many years. She was active in the Menallen Grange for over 30 years. She was employed as a sales manager for the Houze Glass Corp. in Point Marion, Pa. for 17 years and retired in 1972. In Powell she was a 15 year member of the Union Presbterian Church and Women’s Circle.
Edith had three brothers who prededed her in death and is survived by a brother and three sisters. She is also survived by her children and their families. Son, Art and wife Bernadette of Powell and their children Tim, Steve and wife Sheri, Kelly and wife Tiffany, Aimee and husband Brian, daughter Carol Paquette of Arlington, VA. And her children Laura and husband Charles, Quentin and wife Mary, Guy and Hugh and wife Khadija, son Glenn and wife Katherine of Bryn Mawr, Pa. and their children Corrine and husband Mike and Evan and 10 great grandchildren, all of whom loved her dearly.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Union Presbyterian Church in Powell.
Burial will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery.
