Jessie Tristani DiVirgilio, 99, of Star Junction, Pa., passed away Saturday, August 9, 2003 at Mon Valley Care Center. Jessie was born January 31, 1904 in Pietransieri, Italy, daughter of the late Sabatino Tristani and Giovanna Tamborino Tristani.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years Domenick DiVirgilio on February 22, 1990, infant twin daughters, two sisters Stella Mignogna and Dorothy Krepps, one brother Eugene Tristani, a great great grandson Dominic Joseph Giocondi.

Jessie was a member of St. Johns The Baptist Church of Perryopolis, Roman Star Lodge, St. John’s Altar Society and St. John’s Golden Agers.

Jessie is survived by seven beloved children; Eldo DiVirgilio and wife Shirley of Perryopolis, Elvera Giocondi and husband Joe of Star Junction, John Divirgilio and wife Wanda of Belle Vernon, Deacon Dante DiVirgilio of Vernon Hills, Ill., Fred DiVirgilio and wife Joy of Perryopolis, Joanne Torruiso and husband Bob of Perryopolis, Patricia Zello and husband Patsy of Greensburg; one brother Adolph Tristani of Dunbar; eight grandchildren, Joseph J. Giocondi, Jr. and wife Pamela of Beaver Falls, Pa., Mary Lake of Star Junction, Barbara Emricko and husband Tom of Perryopolis, Linda Patterson and husband George of Belle Vernon, Robert DiVirgilio and wife Joanne of Chicago, Rose Ann Basford and husband Alan of Chicago, Sharon Fleming and husband Guy of Belle Vernon, Margaret DiVirgilio of Greensburg; 15 great grandchildren; Joseph J. Giocondi III and wife Carol of Florence, South Carolina, Bryan S. Giocondi anf wife Lisa of Florence, South Carolina, Justin Giocondi of Beaver Falls, Kevin Lake of Star Junction, Tommy Emricko of Belle Vernon, Jason Emricko and wife Danni of North Huntington, Carey D’Amore and husband Rico of Chicago, Aaron DiVirgilio and wife Jill of Illinois, Jessica and Tricia Basford of Chicago, Megan Guiler and husband Scott of Smithton, Rebekah Patterson and Valerie Fleming of Belle Vernon and Angela and Sarah DiVirgilio of Chicago; five great great grandchildren, Dillon, Anthony and Andrew Giocondi of Florence, S.C., Michael Lake of Fairchance and Peyton DiVirgilio of Illinois.

Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 106 E. Independence Street, Perryopolis today from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis with Rev. Father John T. Euker as Celebrant.

Interment to follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Perryopolis.

Altar Society and members of St. John’s will recite the Rosary on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Wake Service will be held Wednesday evening at 8 p.m.

Contributions may be made to St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, Pa.
