Sophia A. Krospic Battaglia, age 85, of Riverside County, California, and formerly of Masontown and Uniontown, Pa., passed away Monday, August 11, 2003 in Riverside Community Hospital, Riverside, California. She was born in Connellsville, Pa., on December 20, 1918, daughter of Frank and Nellie (Wisnoski) Krospic.

Sophia was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church in Masontown, Pa., and its Confraternity of Christian Mothers for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Battaglia in 1970, three sisters, and parents.

She is survived by three sons: George Battaglia and his wife, Betty Ann, of Riverside, California, Thomas Battaglia and his wife, Connie, of Uniontown, Pa., and Joseph Battaglia and his wife, Sara, of Crossett, Arkansas; two daughters: Marie Adkins of Corona, California, and Josephine Meyer and her husband, Gary, of Chandler, Arizona; 13 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.

Family and Friends are invited to a Graveside Service on Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Cemetery, Leckrone, Pa. Rev. Fr. James F. Bump will officiate.

Local funeral arrangements are being handled by the THOMAS M. DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 196 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa.
