HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) – Allegheny Energy, Inc. has named Joseph H. Richardson president of Allegheny Power, its energy delivery business, effective Monday. Richardson is a former president and CEO of Florida Power Corp. Since 2002, he has been president and chief executive officer of Global Energy Group, a company that specializes in developing and patenting technology to improve energy efficiency. Allegheny Energy has a portfolio of businesses, including Allegheny Power, which delivers electric and natural gas service to about three million people in Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. Its Allegheny Energy Supply unit owns and operates electric generating facilities and supplies energy and energy-related commodities.
