John Russin, 82, of Brownsville, Pa., died Monday, August 18, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born July 7, 1921 in Alicia, Pa., son of the late Alex and Mary Hanosch Russin.

He was a member of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of West Brownsville, a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army Air Corp. He owned and operated along with his wife Ann, Shure’s Clothing Store in Brownsville for many years. He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel and was a member of the UMWA and United Steel Workers of America.

He was predeceased by a daughter Vern Ann Russin and brothers Michael and Joseph Russin.

He is survived by his wife Ann Marodi Russin; three daughters, Joanne and her husband Jack White of Troutville, Va., Martha and her husband James Davis of Brownsville and Kathy and her husband Mike Coombs of Litchfield, Maine; seven grandchildren, Cara Davis Teslovich, Jeremy Davis, Adina Davis, Jacob Davis, Kalie Davis, Jocelyn White and Jared White; a great granddaughter Hannah Teslovich; two sisters Mary Plishka of Clark Summit, Pa. and Vern Ball of Dana Point, CA. and a brother Andrew Russin of Scranton, Pa.

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa. today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. where a Trisagion Service will be held Friday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 9:30 a.m., in the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in West Brownsville, with the Rev. Fr. Samuel Smolcic officiating.

A Panachida Service will be held this evening at 7 p.m.

Interment to follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
