Sgt. Eric R. Hull
Sgt. Eric R. Hull C/C, 23, of Uppermiddletown, Pa., and a member of the 307th Military Police Company, 519th Military Police Battalion, was killed in action Monday, August 18, 2003 in Baghdad, Iraq. The husband of Missy DeFabbo Hull, who were celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary, he was born April 28, 1980 in Uniontown, Pa., the son of Raymond Hull and Deborah Humbertson Hull of Uniontown.
Eric received the Eagle Scout Merit Award at the age of 13.
He was a 1998 graduate of Uniontown Area High school where he was an outstanding Lineman on the Raider Football Team and a graduate of Westmoreland Community College with an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts and a certificate in Baking and Pastry.
He attended Uppermiddletown Methodist Church.
Eric was a former Chef at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa, Farmington, Pa., and Richey’s Barbara Joyce Restaurant, Uniontown, and until he was called for active duty was a Food Service Director for the Central Greene School District.
He received the Specialized Training Award from the United States Army for “Outstanding Achievement”.
In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by a daughter, Mia Nicole Hull, and a son, Dominic Michael Hull; his sister, Supply Specialist Ashley Hull serving with the United States Army in Germany; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony and Milica (Bush) DeFabbo of Uniontown, Pa.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Dana DeFabbo, and nephew, Zachary DeFabbo, of Canonsburg, Pa.; and much loved grandparents, Alice Bush and Pete Humbertson.
Eric was a loving and devoted Husband and Father. His Family always came first! He was a real sweetheart!
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., on Monday, August 25, after 7 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Visitation continues Wednesday, August 27, in Uppermiddletown United Methodist Church, Old Route 51, Uppermiddletown, Pa., from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Daniel Brand and the Rev. Timothy McConville officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa., where Full Military Honors will be accorded by the 99th Regional Support Command, Pittsburgh, Pa.
