Sarah Marie O’Brien Umble
Sarah Marie O’Brien Umble, 73, of Smithfield, Pa., died Monday, August 25, 2003 in her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born January 9, 1930 in Fairchance, Pa., daughter of the late Ewing O’Brien and Harriet Lenas O’Brien.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her step-mother, Florence Morgan O’Brien; brother Elmer O’Brien; step-brother, William Morgan; step-sisters, Lavetta Cooley and Carrie Morgan and half-brother William Helenius.
Sarah was a retired secretary to the Dean of Nursing of the West Virginia University School of Nursing.
She was also a member of the Church of Christ of Uniontown, Pa.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 55 years, Robert Joseph Umble; loving son and daughter-in-law, Robert Joseph Umble Jr. and Debbie Umble; loving granddaughter, Michelle Umble, all of Morgantown, W.Va. and sisters Doris Darnell of Bruceton Mills, W.Va., Judy Moreland of Uniontown and Ruth Ginegaw, State of Florida.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. today until 11 a.m.,, the hour of service, with Minister Tim Lively officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
