Mary Hawkins wasn’t the first queen of the Pennsylvania Bituminous Coal Show from Jefferson-Morgan High School. Two other queens, Joan Parker in 1954 and Kathy Sutphin in 1984 were from Jefferson-Morgan High School. Hawkins was selected as the queen for the 2003 show. Incorrect information was reported in a story about the coal show in Sunday’s paper.
