Theresa Emma Schannen
Theresa Emma Schannen, 88, of Uniontown formerly of Philadelphia, Pa., died Friday, August 22, 2003 in Foxboro Manor. She was born January 27, 1915 in Gamischdorf, Burgenland, Austria.
Preceding her in death were her parents Adolf and Maria Krammer Hanzl, her husband Joseph Schannen, Sr. and nine siblings.
Mrs. Schannen was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church of Philadelphia and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church since moving to Uniontown eight years ago. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by her family.
Surviving are four children, Joseph Schannen, Jr. and his wife Sally of Eatontown, N.J., Raymond Schannen and his wife Ausra of Sicklerville, N.J., Maryann Elizabeth Shell and her husband Jerome W. Shell, Jr. of Uniontown and Stanley Schannen of Levittown, Pa.; nine grandchildren and a sister Aloisia Marth of Gamischdorf, Burgenland, Austria.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, Pa. on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday until 9 a.m., followed at 9:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 180 Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. Alexander L. Pleban as Celebrant.
Interment will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2003, in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham Ave., and Easton Road, Philadelphia, Pa., at 2 p.m.
