Wanda M. Leckemby
Wanda M. Leckemby, 74, of Smithfield, Pa., died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at home, following a lengthy illness. She was born Dec. 7, 1928, in Blanchard, Okla., daughter of the now late Robert K. and Ruby Belle Freeman.
She served as a member of the Smithfield United Methodist Church, where she served on the board throughout the years, and taught Sunday school for many years. Wanda worked with Roye at his Point Marion Photography Studio for more than 40 years. She was also a member of Smithfield V.F.D. Ladies Auxiliary and served with the Fairchance Gun Club.
Surviving are her husband, Roye Paul Leckemby; a daughter, Judy Moyers and husband, Todd of New Port Richey, Fla.; two sisters, Dorothy Huddlestone and Patricia Glines, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one brother, Del Ray Freeman of Blanchard, Okla.; two grandchildren, Doug Proud and wife, Jodee of Smithfield, and Tyson Moyers and his wife, Joann of New Port Richey, Fla; one great-grandson, Jacob Proud of Smithfield; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Dorita Thompson and one brother, Bobby Freeman.
The family will receive friends in the JOHN F. BROWNFIELD FUNERAL HOME OF SMITHFIELD, today until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Maggie Foreman officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
