AMERICAN LEGION FAYETTE COUNTY COMMITTEE will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Brownsville Post 295. ST. THERESE ALTAR SOCIETY, Uniontown, will receive communion at the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday. Rosary will be recited at 9:10 a.m. The Christmas party will be held Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Parish Center. Tickets are on sale before and after Masses with weekend.
GLADYS REBEKAH LODGE WILL HOLD A Swiss steak supper from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the lodge hall, Main Street, Big Brownfield. Costs are $7 for adults; $3.50 for children. Take-out orders will be available.
CARMICHAELS UNITED METHODIST WOMEN will hold a soup sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Carmichaels First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. A variety of soups will be available. Carry out orders will be sold by the pint and quart. Patrons are to bring containers. Dine-in orders include soup, dessert and beverage. For take-out orders, call the church office at 724-966-7123 between 8 a.m. and noon or the Fellowship Hall at 724-966-7022 the day of the sale.
A.C.T.S. of Greene County will hold a Christmas Tree Extravaganza Saturday through Dec. 12 at the Carmichaels United Methodist Fellowship Hall. A Chinese auction will be held for the trees decorated by various businesses and organizations. Trees can be viewed from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The drawing will be held at 5 p.m. on Dec. 12. Proceeds benefit the North Cumberland Township Food Bank.
