Josephine Frances Zitney, 95, formerly of Vanderbilt, Pa., died Saturday, December 6, 2003 in Mount Saint Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa.

She was born June 20, 1908 in Footedale, Pa., daughter of Anthony Zitney and Anna Mary Rudy Zitney.

Josephine worked as a Housekeeper for the Lesterhaus and Axelrad families.

Later, she cared for her parents and operated the family farm for many years.

She was the oldest living member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville, Pa.

Two sisters, Stephanie Zitney and Mrs. Veronica Cutler, seven brothers, John, Steve, Walter, Pete, Andy, Frank and Joseph Zitney, two nephews, Tom and Eddie Zitney, and parents preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sister, Sophie Kocan of Bitner, Pa.; her brother, Rudy Zitney of Chino, Calif.; and 12 nieces: Mrs. Lucille Gephart, Mrs. Joan Neckel, Mrs. Dolores Bednar, Mrs. Carol Felton, Patricia Young, Mrs. Kathy Kruest, Louise Cutler, Paula Zitney, Stella Zitney, Janet Kocan, Mary Jo Kocan and Michaeline Kocan; and six nephews: Danny, Roger, Paul, Louis, Robert and Frank Zitney.

Friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where a Blessing Service will be held Tuesday, December 9, at 9:30 a.m.

A Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville, with Rev. Fr. John Butler as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Connellsville.

Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday at 3 p.m.
