Robert W. Franks Sr.
Robert W. Franks Sr., age 80, of Uniontown, Pa., and formerly of Grindstone, Pa., died Friday, December 5, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was a member of St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, Grindstone, and The Holy Name Society.
He was an Assistant Mine Foreman at Maple Creek Mine and a member of United Mine Workers of America.
Mr. Franks was a Veteran of World War II who served with the 35th Engineer Combat Battalion and a member of V.F.W. Post 47, Uniontown, General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood, Pa., and American Legion Post 275, Grindstone.
He was also a member of the Springdale Golf Course.
His Parents, John E. and Katherine (Rush) Franks, and Brothers, John E. Franks Jr. and Joseph Franks, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Louise Flati Franks; two Children: Robert W. Franks Jr., Philipsburg, Pa., and Deborah Bilohlavek, Uniontown, Pa.; three Grandchildren: Kelly Franks, Katie Franks, and Brandon Bilohlavek; and a Sister, Barbara Casey of California state.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., today and Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, December 9, at 10:30 a.m.
A Funeral Mass follows at 11 a.m. in St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, Grindstone, Pa., with Rev. Fr. John A. Sedlak as Celebrant.
Entombment will follow in Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa. Full Military Honors will be accorded by V.F.W. Post 47, Uniontown, Pa.
Vigil Service will be held in the Funeral Home today at 8 p.m.
The Rosary Confraternity will recite the Partner Parish Rosary in the Funeral Home today at 8:15 p.m.
Catholic Daughters of America Court 1141 will recite the Rosary on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
