Little Knights There will be no regular meeting of the Little Knights Baseball/Softball League during the month of December. The next regular meeting will be held on Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Masontown V.F.D. All members are encouraged to attend.
Children’s Christmas party
The annual combined Pal’s Club/Auxiliary Children’s Christmas party will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, in the club’s main social hall. Treats and refreshments will be furnished to the club members’ children. Santa Claus will be in attendance.
The Pal’s Club president is Bruce Plaski, and the ladies auxiliary president is Betsy Kopacko.
Volunteers needed
The Masontown Service Center of the Salvation Army is still seeking volunteers to help ring the bell and collect donations during the holiday season.
The Rev. Bob Lewis is the kettle captain. Any group, organization, club, church or individual wishing to help is urged to call Rev. Lewis to volunteer. Volunteers are needed for Friday. For more information or to volunteer, call the pastor at 724-583-9207.
Christmas carol songfest
A Christmas carol sing will be held today at 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Masontown, 104 W. Church Ave. Refreshments will be served following the singing. What a great way to prepare one’s heart for the birth of Christ, our Savior, than singing.
Holiday schedule
Due to the upcoming holidays, those submitting items to the Masontown news column are asked to submit information by Monday evening during the month of December. The regular Tuesday schedule will return in January.
Christmas Eve
A candlelight Christmas Eve service will be held on Dec. 24, beginning at 8 p.m. at Grace Chapel Presbyterian Church, 1214 Walnut Hill Road, High House. Come and worship with traditional readings, hymns, special music and celebrate the joy of Christmas.
Ecumenical choir
On Sunday, Dec. 21, the Masontown Ecumenical Choir will present its Christmas Cantata at 7 p.m. at All Saints Roman Catholic Church, 101 W. Church Ave. Prepare your heart and spirit for the birth of Christ and allow this beautiful music to touch your soul. Gail Diamond, director, and members of the community have worked hard to prepare this special musical presentation during this very busy season. Let’s support them with our attendance and enjoy the true sounds of the season.
Homemade rolls
All Saints Church is offering homemade apricot, cherry, cherry-nut and poppyseed rolls for Christmas.
The rolls are $6 each and will be available for pickup in the school cafeteria after all Masses Saturday and Sunday next week.

Historical Society
Members of the Fort Mason Historical Society are always grateful for donations. Expenses including a monthly mortgage, utilities, phone and upkeep of the building continue throughout the year. When you think of your loved ones or friends, please consider offering a donation in their name or memory for the holiday season.
