Mary Louise Gearing, 83, of Portland, Ore., passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, in Portland. She was born July 4, 1920, in New Salem, Pa., daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Jeffries.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Webb Gearing; a brother, Arthur Jeffries; and a sister, Sara Ann Hanan.

Mary Louise was a graduate of the Uniontown High School, Class of 1938, and the Uniontown Hospital School of Nursing. She served overseas as an Army Nurse in World War II.

She is survived by a son, Jeffrey Gearing.

Burial took place in Portland, Ore.
