Norbert M. Darr Jr.
Norbert “Lucky” M. Darr Jr., age 79, of Hopwood, Pa., died Friday, December 12, 2003 in Beverly Health Care Center, Waynesburg, Pa. He was the son of Norbert M. “Pappy” Darr Sr. and Merna Ramsey Darr.
He graduated from Uniontown High School.
Following high school he entered the military and served in the United States Army during World War II.
“Lucky” retired after 29 years from Darr’s Repair Service, which he owned and operated on Ray Avenue.
His memberships included General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 in Hopwood and the Head-I-Fishing Club.
His wife, Mary L. Darr, grandson, Aaron Darr, and parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are his three sons: James E. Darr of Grindstone, Pa., Norbert M. Darr III and his wife Linda of Cabbage Flats, Greensboro, Pa., and David S. Darr and his wife Carol of Uniontown, Pa.; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Jane Kenton of Uniontown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, December 16, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 a.m., by the Rev. Michael Orsted.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
