Central Christian marks 30th year for Nativity

1 min read

This marks the 30th year that Central Christian Church in Uniontown has performed a live Nativity on the streets of Uniontown. Only once was the evening cancelled due to an ice storm. Whether rain or snow, a cast of approximately 15 people re-enact the age-old story of the birth of Jesus.

This year will be no different. Wendy and Mark Sabo as Mary and Joseph will travel to a makeshift stable in front of the church at 23 S. Gallatin Ave.

At the stable, Woodland Zoo will supply several animals, including Sally, the donkey, to make the scene authentic. Mary and Joseph will be visited by wise men, shepherds and several angels. The performances will take place at 7:30 and 9 p.m. today.

Afterwards, visit the church’s sanctuary decorated for the season and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies in the social hall. Musical entertainment will be supplied by Cramer Studios.

Officials said, “This production has been a wonderful tradition for Central Christian and Fayette County for a long time. Join in and ‘Remember the reason for the season.”
