Thomas Vincent McDermott
Thomas Vincent McDermott, 87, of Nemacolin, Pa., died Friday, December 19, 2003 at his home. He was born May 1, 1916 in Edenborn, Fayette County, Pa., son of Thomas V. McDermott and Pearl Haney McDermott.
Thomas was a retired Coal Miner from Buckeye Coal Company with 37 years service and was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 6290 for over 70 years.
He was a resident of Nemacolin for 80 years and an avid Fisherman!
On August 28, 1937 he married Margaret Kushner McDermott, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons: Barry G. McDermott and his wife Sandra and Thomas V. McDermott Jr. and his wife Charmaine, all of Carmichaels, Pa.; and one granddaughter, Kathleen McDermott Toth.
A brother, Francis P. McDermott, and parents preceded him in death.
Friends will be received in the PAUL MICHAEL LESAKO FUNERAL HOME INC., Paul M. Lesako, Funeral Director, 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Monday, December 22, at 12:15 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 1 p.m. in St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Waynesburg, Pa., with Rev. Fr. John J. Batykefer as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels, Pa.
