Donald M. Rhodes, 68, of Fairchance, Pa., died Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at home with his family at his bedside. He was born October 21, 1935, in Fairchance, son of the late Edward and Agnes Bricker Rhodes.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Ruth Noakes Rhodes; four children: Donald D. Rhodes and his wife, Kimberly of Smithfield, Pa., Ronald E. Rhodes of Fairchance, Pa., Rhonda Forgen and her husband, Michael of Carmichaels, Pa. and Terry Rhodes and his wife, Nancy of Fairchance, Pa.; five grandchildren: Garry, Jessica, Chastity, Gary and Edward; four sisters: June Laconi of Pittsburgh, Pa., Doris Tanner of Smithfield, Pa., Patty Bittinger of Oliphant Furnace, Pa. and Brenda Sutton of Smithfield, Pa.; two brothers: Raymond Rhodes of Fairchance, Pa. and Darrel Rhodes of Smithfield, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

Don was a member of American Legion Post 342, Fairchance, Pa. and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 27, 2003, until 11 a.m., the hour of services, with the Rev. Ken Walls and the Rev. William J. Moull officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa.
