Donald E. Hartman
Donald E. Harman, 69, of Roscoe, Pa., entered peacefully into rest Friday, December 26, 2003 from Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was born July 9, 1934 in Stockdale, Pa., son of Margaret Kovach Hartman of Stockdale, Pa., and the late Harold Hartman.
Mr. Hartman was a member of Roscoe Presbyterian Church, the Charleroi Elks No. 494 where he served as Past Exalted Rule.
He was a former member of Roscoe Council.
He retired after 43 years of service from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Allenport Plant as an Engineer in the Steam Department.
He served in the United States Army, a Canoneer with Battery C of the Artillery’s 266th Armored Field Battalion.
He also played Baseball and Football on the 18th Airborne Corps Artillery Team at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
He was a devoted supporter of the California (Pa.) Area Baseball and Football programs and served as a Coach in the Youth League Baseball and Football Programs.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dorothy Ann Semich Hartman; a son, Donald Adam Hartman and wife Mandy of Perryopolis, Pa.; a daughter, Rhonda Gay Hartman of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one granddaughter, Logan Hartman; a sister, Carol Lind and husband Roger of Belle Vernon, Pa.; two brothers: Dennis Hartman and wife Karen of North Charleroi, Pa., and Barry Hartman of Roscoe, Pa.; three nephews, four nieces, six great nephews and three great nieces.
Friends will be received in the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES INC., 1008 Furlong Avenue, Roscoe, Pa., today from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where a Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 29, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Rankin of Roscoe Presbyterian Church officiating.
Entombment will be private.
The Funeral Home will be open today (Sunday) from 9 to 9.
