In brief
Campaign hits $100,000 Stephanie King, board president, announced recently that donations to the annual fund drive of the United Way of South Fayette reached $100,000.
“This is tremendous, but we have a long way to go to achieve our goal,” said King.
“We’re grateful for the continued and generous support of our community, but there are many contributors from which we have not heard to date. If you have not made your pledge yet, we urge you to take a few minutes, consider the plight of those less fortunate and make a donation to the 2003 campaign.
“Our goal this year is $235,000. We ask community members to continue their past support and encourage others to give,” King added.
A permanent fund to support the local United Way has been established at the Community Foundation of Fayette County.
Marlene K. Baker, United Way executive director, said contributors may donate by check or cash, through a payroll deduction at work, direct billing by the United Way and by credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover).
Information on the fund drive, supported agencies and use of credit card is available by calling the United Way office at 724-438-2917.
