James D. Dunn
James D. Dunn, age 50, of Uniontown, Pa., loving Son, Father, Husband and Brother, passed away suddenly Friday, January 31, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born May 27, 1952 in Uniontown, Pa., son of Marion Dunn of Uniontown and the late Madeline Ryan Dunn.
In addition to his father he is survived by his wife, Beverly Wallace Dunn; a daughter, Stephanie Dunn at home; two step daughters: Jennifer Roll Brown and husband, Ryan, of Uniontown and Karen Roll at home; one sister, Mary Lee Gallis and husband, Joseph, of Uniontown; and 11 nieces and nephews.
Jim attended St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a graduate of Laurel Highlands High School Class of 1970 and California University of Pennsylvania Class of 1974.
He has taught in the Uniontown School District for the past 281/2 years. During these years he was Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at A. J. McMullen Junior High (1970’s and 1980’s), Girls Basketball Coach at A. J. McMullen Middle School (1980’s), Assistant Track Coach at Uniontown Middle schools (Ben Franklin and LaFayette), and Assistant Girls Basketball Coach at LaFayette Middle School for the past two years.
Jim was the former Student Council Sponsor and also Dance Chaperon at A. J. McMullen.
He held memberships in UAEA, PSEA and NEA, and was Treasurer of UAEA for 11/2 years, PACE Chair and membership Chair.
He was ISS Officer for Uniontown Middle Schools.
Jim was also a member of Wharton Township Hunting and Fishing Club and organizer of club trips to Pirate games.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today from Noon to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Visitation continues in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 71 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, on Monday, February 3, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul N. Frank officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
