Murtha announces field offices’ hours
U.S. Rep. John Murtha announced the office hours at field offices he has opened throughout the new 12th Congressional District. “As part of my overall strategy to stay in touch with the people, we’ll have staff in every district office on a regular basis,” Murtha said. “Most people will still find it more convenient to call our toll-free number or send me an e-mail, but office hours provide another option.”
He stressed that people should call ahead to be sure staff will be in an office as scheduled, because at times, staff will need to attend meetings or address other pressing matters. People can call 800-289-2642 for help or confirm that staff will be in the field office as scheduled.
The addresses, phone numbers and hours of operation for his local offices are as follows:
? Connellsville – 10 North Arch St., Connellsville, 15425, 724-626-2910, Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
? Waynesburg – 93 E. High St., Third Floor, Greene County Office Building, Waynesburg, 15370, 724-852-2209, Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting Monday.
? Uniontown – 20 N. Gallatin Ave., Suite 216, Uniontown, 15401, 724-434-2620, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Whether you have an individual problem with a federal program, such as a Social Security or veterans benefits, or if you want to voice your opinion on a pressing federal issue, the fastest, easiest way to reach me is on the toll-free number or by e-mail,” Murtha said.
The e-mail address is murtha@mail.house.gov. People who use e-mail should include their mailing address to identify that they are from the district. Murtha noted that e-mails may not receive a reply if the sender does not indicate that he or she is from the area.
